A Vintage-Inspired Band Collar Shirt with Workwear Roots

The Mister Freedom® “Homesteader” is a modified version of their Sportsman Shirt pattern, designed as a nod to early 20th century shirting styles. It features a narrow band collar with a chin strap closure, referencing the detachable collar shirts common in the 1920s and 30s. The inverted box-pleat chest pockets and shoulder pleats provide structure and movement, while the silhouette stays clean and wearable.

Cut from NOS Turkey Red Calico with Vintage Details

Made from a 100% cotton NOS calico discharge print in a “Turkey Red” shade, this fabric recalls old workshirts and feed sack prints from the early 1900s. True to Mister Freedom form, it’s finished with vintage 1920s French glass buttons, indigo poplin facings, side gussets, and chainstitch construction throughout. The shirt is cut and sewn in the USA and arrives raw/unwashed, so expect some shrinkage after the first wash.

Ships Raw, Shrinks to Tagged Size After Wash

The Homesteader Shirt is shipped in its raw state and is designed to shrink to the tagged size after a cold wash and line dry. It fits true to size post-wash. CL (Christophe Loiron) wears a size Small. We recommend referencing the measurements below to determine your best fit and keeping in mind the expected shrinkage after the first soak or wash.
