Our in-house made chore coat combines the best of details from a variety of original examples in our company archives. Patterned, cut and sewn by us from start to finish in Greensboro, NC using the finest USA-made materials you can find. Constructed from a rigid 10oz Cone White Oak 2/1 Denim we had a few yards of for a first size run.
Our classic chore pattern utilizes 4 patch pockets, 3 on the exterior and 1 on the interior to keep things safe. Triple needle chainstitch felled back seam, shoulder, and cuff to waist, double needle lockstitch felled sleeve, with single needle lockstitch pockets, collars, cuffs, and placket. Lift The Dot vintage enamel painted snap fastener closure. HH moniker label in neck. Sewn with black A&E dual core thread and finished with orangish-red bartacks using Coats dual core thread.
Evan's favorite details are the subtle curves to the point collar, taken from a 1930's chore coat example, the double needle cuff facing, seen on a 1920's Lee locomotive jacket, and the bartack color, popularized from the 1930's through 1960's in economy-line work clothing.
These have a roomy fit and a classic, timeless shape.
Our in-house made chore coats will be made one size run at a time, and will never be made from the exact same fabric.
Our sizing is based off of friends who served as test samples and were found to fit well. We may expand our size offering at a later time.
Built to wear in, not out.
