The Backstory:
The first round of this colorway sold through quickly. This is one sturdy sneaker folks; it is our thoughtful interpretation of US Army Basketball Sneakers and Frogman Sneakers produced during the 1940s through 1970s, with all the bells and whistles, and we mean ALL the bells and whistles.
Details:
Olive Drab--100% Cotton OD Shade #7 [12 Oz.] Vintage Duck Canvas, originally produced for Vietnam-era duffle bags. Lined with Mount Vernon Mills lightweight 100% cotton canvas. [6 Oz.] Horween Dublin black leather offers sidewall reinforcement for blowout prevention and toe scuff guard for maximum durability. The backstay cover and arch stretch preventer are made of 100% Cotton OD #7 military webbing produced in 1966. A black cup sole is glued onto a Stroebel sock and then attached with sidewall stitch, allowing this model to be resoled after extended use. The internal toe cap and heel counter are made from [5 Oz.] Horween Vermont leather. Stitched with A&E #69 Bonded Nylon for extreme seam durability. [4 Oz.] Sueded vegetable tanned-covered Poron contoured insole for cushioned support and custom footbed break-in with wear. All sneakers are furnished with 100% cotton waxed, flat knit braided shoelaces complete with durable aglet tips. Inspired by dozens of original examples of athletic shoes built between 1920 and 1970, and the varying iterations of the same features on models produced by different manufacturers.
