Using gently worn US Navy pants from World War II sourced by vintage specialist Greg Redelico
, we collaborated with River Takada-Capel of Rivtak
to apply a special tie
technique to the 100% cotton trousers, more commonly known as Sailor Whites
. We then cut down the matching tops to repurpose fabric for a set of expandable cargo pockets to resemble those found on WWII-era USMC combat pants, removed thumb pockets at waistline to permit a more flattering fit, added five (5) belt loops using Union Special two-needle coverstitch, and reinforced seams for improved durability. These are truly a statement piece, one-of-a-kind (no two are even close to alike!) pants that merge the concept of clothing and art. High-rise waistline provides a Unisex fit with room to spare, with a hip that allows for a curvy figure to fit in these well. Some pairs have a bell flare, some have a wider straight leg, but we cannot guarantee one or the other.
